This week, we praise God for:
💟Helping Nelly to feel better, and also for protecting her and her great-grandson from Covid.
💟 Yandel's brain surgery went well and he's now back home recovering. The Torres family is thankful for all the prayers!
💟Sue's mom, Olga, is recovering slowly but surely, and Sue was happy to report that her mom is showing marked improvement.
Thank you, Jesus! 🙌🏽
We are also praying for:
🛐The Hernandez Family, including Nancy's husband, Cany, who lost their mother. May God's peace and presence surround and strengthen them all at this difficult time. 🙏🏽
🛐 Carole's daughter, Racheal, who has Covid, and is a severe asthmatic. She is feeling a little better and we thank the Lord for answered prayers. Let us continue praying for complete healing and protection from the Lord. A reminder that Racheal has two young children, Elijah and Brianna, who depend on and need her.
🛐Samson, the Lozano Family's youngest dog as he undergoes diagnostic testing. May it be nothing serious.
🛐 Monkey. He is showing signs on some improvement, but is still very limited because of pain.🐾🐾
🛐 Louie Irizzary’s family as they prepare for His burial. May their strength come from the Lord.
🛐 The family of Vanessa’s 21 year old co-worker, Chadly Julien, who died in a tragic house fire this past week. Chadly came and worked here to help his family back home in Haiti. They had to hear this devastating news of his death from miles away. May the Lord give them strength, courage and the peace that surpasses all understanding.
🛐Our country to heal and to recognize their need of the Lord.
🛐Jordan and Zeus, and for God's protection and guidance over our Jordan as he goes to coach college ball before resuming his professional career.
🛐Seth's teacher, Mrs. Muñoz and her baby girls, who were born prematurely and are in the NICU. May God bless and protect those precious babies and the Muñoz family as they navigate this difficult journey.
🛐 Anna Ortiz, who was in cancer remission, but the cancer has returned with a vengeance and is now in her bones. Please pray for her during this process. Pray for her family as well!
Today's Devotional was shared by Erika. She is sharing a devotional from an article she reads by Troy Fitzgerald. Thank you, Erika. 💗
Lord, help us to see our true condition.🙏🏽
"You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked." Revelation 3:17
Adultery, lying and stealing are serious shortcomings, but beatable by the grace of God. God can restore anyone from the brokenness of those sins. Those who refuse to see their shortcomings or to ask God for help in overcoming them make it hard for God to redeem those who would refuse the hand of God reaching toward them. It is terribly hard to help someone who doesn’t think they need help.
While walking in the downtown area of a major city, I clamored my way to the corner and waited to cross. Not looking where I was going I stepped forward and immediately heard a “yelp!” A dog was also waiting at the light and I had stepped on its paw. I was obviously slightly annoyed at the attention I was drawing to myself. I noticed that the golden-haired dog was attached to a harness that was attached to the hand of a blind person. I felt horrible. “I stepped on the paw of a guide dog!” I rebuked myself silently in my mind.
I apologized to the owner and to the dog and then introduced myself. We all ended up in line for tickets to the subway, so I continued to talk with Jane, who was led by the guide dog, Roscoe. “How long have you been without sight?” I asked while we waited. “For about twenty five years. I was a teenager when I lost my sight.” She answered warmly. Then she continued, “I remember having a hard time seeing clearly, even when my eyes were working.” “Yes, I know what you mean, “I agreed,” reminiscing on my younger days. “It’s one thing to be blind, “she said, “It’s quite another thing to be blind and think you can see clearly.” Ouch! While she made the remark as philosophical as she could, but by the smile on her face, I knew it was pointed at people who can see quite well but still step on a faithful dog’s paw. “Well said.” I conceded as Jane and Roscoe went on their way.
She was right. It’s not the blind that have a hard time seeing. While they can’t see with their eyes they trust other things to help them negotiate their way through life. It is those who are blind and think they see just fine that are terribly hard to reach.
How's your vision?
