I asked for Angelique to post this thought instead of my submitted devotional.
we cannot go on as usual. this is not normal.
Another violent mass shooting took place in Boulder, Colorado today. There were lives, PRECIOUS lives, lost...though authorities could not even yet offer a number. Unthinkable! A police officer also lost his life amid the violence. Devastating.
Countless people will have their lives changed because they lost someone they loved, needed, depended on for everything. Once again, we are reminded that gun violence is a constant threat to communities and families all over our nation.
God is not blind to the threat or the pain. He's not deaf to the cries of those hurt, murdered or left behind - destroyed, by the violence. Let's lift every victim of this violence and every broken hearted survivor to the throne of grace.
Then...let's think as God's people what we can do to help turn this around. We are God's hands and feet, YES! But He also gave us a voice.
WHEN will we use it to respond to this crisis?
Let’s pray about THAT as well..
