Today's gracious Devotional, submitted by Evelyn Guzman, will appeal to each of your senses as you explore new ways to live life being consciously and purposely more grateful! 🙌🏽 Thank you, Evelyn, for the exceptional ideas! 🧡 We all want to experience TRUE Thanksgiving!😌
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." 1 Chronicles 16:34
I would like to share 3 ways to become more grateful
1- Remember the bad times!
When we experience tough times, it is a great reminder to be grateful. As we look back to those difficult moments that we were stuck in and then realize how far we have come we set up a contrast in our mind and this contrast is fertile ground for gratefulness.
2- Turn our prayers into poems of gratitude!
Prayers of gratitude are powerful forms of prayer. They elevate us to the throne. They draw us nearer to HIM and it is here we recognize the ultimate source of all strength and power. We recognize that God is the source for everything we are and all we do.
3- Put on the lens of gratitude
The 5 senses God gifted us with allow us to see, smell, taste, hear and touch. Through these senses we gain appreciation of what it means to be human and what a privilege it is to be alive. Seeing through the lens of gratitude the human body is not only a magnificent and remarkable construction but it is a gift. As we put on the lens of gratitude and use the 5 senses God gave us, we will appreciate the big and little things in life. I want to invite you to go touch a flower, take a peek at the moon or sun. Smell a candle or a natural fragrance. Taste a good snack or something delicious. Hear the birds singing or the wind blowing while at the same time listening to God's voice through these things.
In closing as I remember the bad, gratitude leads me to remember how good God is. As I elevate my voice with prayers of gratitude , I am humbled and grateful that God loves me. As I come to my senses and use them to see, hear, touch, smell and taste how good and great God is, I begin to experience true Thanks living .......
