Today's meaningful Devotional, submitted by Tamara Guzman, is a decisive flip of the thoughts that should replace WORRY in our lives. 🤔 Thank you, Tamara, for helping us to refocus our thoughts and to trust Him!☝🏽💛
Matthew 6:25-32
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"
As 2020 comes to an end, I find myself worried about what’s next, and this verse really spoke to me. Worrying about what is next does not add a single hour to my life. Had we anticipated that 2020 would bring so much... -change-, maybe we wouldn’t have enjoyed the holidays normally last year and instead been busy “stocking” up on items or worrying about the future.
The present moment is the most valuable, yet underrated thing in our lives. Life is so much more than food and clothing and toilet paper. It’s the moments where you get to watch your grandmother smile, or call you aunt on the way to work, or find joy in Target trips with your cousin to find clorox wipes or grab dinner with your parents and eat in the car (because #covid). I wouldn’t trade those moments this year for anything.
I’m putting all my worries in a jar and allowing my almighty God to do the rest. It’s Him who can ease the pain and suffering and give access to the light. It’s Him who makes us stronger. I trust him. I hope that you can, too. He is the one who provides us with the lessons that teach us, that the only thing that matters is this moment right here— whatever it may look like.
I’m blessed to be ending this year full of memories, some really heartbreaking, others filled with laughter, but all exactly what was meant to happen. Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life.
🙏🏻
Thank you, Tamara for a beautiful devotional. Blessings to you and theffamily.
