Devotional for December 14, 2020

Good evening! 🌙

This week, we praise God for:☝🏽

• How God is working behind the scenes in the lives of so many!

• The miracles Evelyn's family has seen in her cousin, Miguel. He is breathing on his own and no longer on a ventilator and he responds to his name when we call him; he moves his head a little bit towards the window, Let's keep Miguel in our prayers! God is on His throne and listening!
  

This week, we are praying for:🙏

•. Arnold, the first friend I ever made in the world...right in the playpen we shared as babies. He is a Frontline worker and has just tested positive for the virus. He needs all of our prayers for healing and wellness.

• The Jones Family, especially for Andrew and Danielle, as they mourn the loss of their Grandpa from Covid. 💔 May He strengthen them and their family, and may He continue to be with their Grandma, who is still in the hospital.

• Virginia and Erick, who are currently in a season of financial hardship. Let's pray that the Lord will help Erick to find a good job and that they will be able to get back on their feet soon.

• Bianca, Vishal and Baby Suri, as they get ready to move into their first home, and as they prepare for their baby's arrival. May the Lord bless and keep them.

• Our sister, Janette Harnett, who lost her beloved dog. May God grant her comfort during this difficult time.

• The baby girl Charen asked us to pray for a she was just diagnosed with cancer. Charen didn't know her name, but we know God does.

• The Williams Family, who've experienced several deaths in the family over the past several weeks. May God continue to grant them strength and peace during this very difficult

• Protection over John, as he undergoes a medical procedure this week. May God grant him a clean bill of health.

• Caylie Cardona, as she moves to MD for school. May she always seek God's guidance in every decision she makes.

• The Torstrup Family, whose daughter recently had a baby but is unable to care for the baby due to a struggle with drugs. They are older and having to care for the baby, so it is a very difficult situation.

. OUR BELOVED SETH. 💙 May the Lord touch his body with healing power and infuse every bone, muscle, tendon, ligament, joint and cartilage to work together and bring about complete healing in Jesus' name!

• Norma’s friend, Tracy, as she moves through her cancer treatment.

• Charen's aunt and uncle, still battling cancer. May every step in this journey bring them closer to Jesus.

• Our little brother, Alex, as he becomes a licensed driver.

• Charen's cousin, Elkie, who is battling cancer and needs healing.

• Awilda, Peter's mom, throughout her recovery. Please keep her in prayer...God is listening and Peter reports that she is improving!

• Michael, Angelica's boyfriend, that the Lord will help him to find a job.

• All of the families who are grieving, ESPECIALLY during the holidays, including: The Guzman Family, the Bosques Family, Wanda's family, Mr. Bouchard and his family, Timmy's family, John's family.😢

• Lynn, as she continues to battle cancer while holding on to Jesus!

• Antoinette, also diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and is in need of a miracle.

• Skylar, and SUPERNATURAL healing of heart and mind for her and her family: Jackie, Heaven Lee, and Doris.

• Nelson's son, Santi, and his family as he seeks the Lord and His influence in their lives.

Nothing that I could share with you from the spectacular Christmas book we've been reading together could compare to the TRUE STORY OF A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE that I have to tell you about this evening.😌

First, let me just say to the two sisters I had conversations with LAST WEEK about families in need that God NEVER FAILS

...and He is working even before we can place a need before Him. ☝🏽♥️

I pray to God that everyone reading this just shouted "AMEN!" 🙌🏽

The Lighthouse at Riverside Church has tried to meet every need we've ever been met with, because we believe that God blesses us so richly so that we can bless others.

Before I tell you about the miracle, It's important that we recognize what God can do through the powerful witness of ONE. Through one person's testimony of all that her church does to be Jesus' hands and feet to the world around us, someone else was moved to love, compassion and LOVE. ♥️

Let's praise God and pray for those who allow God to use them to spread the Good News and the good things it inspires in regular people! A sincere thank you to that particular person who helped bring about this miracle.. she is a gift to our church.🥰

She is also the one who sent us a text early yesterday morning that we should check our mailbox.

Before I show you what we found, you should know that it is from someone who is not a member of our church. She's not even a regular attendee. Many might not even recognize her name if I mentioned it, unless I explained her connection to our Lighthouse "witness", but I won't. This act of generosity was done with such humility and a deep desire to share her blessings with others....those are God's FAVORITE acts. 😊

She didn't even need to know who, or how, her gift would help. She just knew that it would, because of her deep and inspirational faith in God.😇

It is enough that Heaven has registered her ASTOUNDING ACT OF LOVE.♥

Please join me in praying that God moves in her life in ways she couldn't ever have imagined. 🙏🏽
